About Global Website Speed Test

Why we built it

Most speed tests measure a page from one location. That is fine if all your visitors live next to that server — but a site that loads in 0.8 seconds in Virginia can take 4 seconds in Sydney or Seoul. We build and operate websites for customers in many countries, and we needed a quick way to see the whole picture at once.

Global Website Speed Test runs the same real-browser test from 8 AWS regions in parallel and puts the results on one map, so the slow regions are obvious in seconds. The tool is free, needs no account, and the methodology is fully documented.

What we believe

• Transparent numbers. Every threshold, weight and rule behind the grade is published.
• Honest rankings. The leaderboard is opt-in and only lists real, finished websites.
• Practical advice. Our guides explain fixes we use on production sites ourselves.
• Practice what we preach. This site is static HTML on a global edge network, with no web fonts, no trackers and under 100 KB on the first visit.
