# Global Website Speed Test > Free online tool at https://www.globalwebsitespeedtest.com that tests a web page's loading speed from 8 regions at the same time — Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore, Sydney, Virginia, Oregon, Frankfurt and London — using headless Chromium on AWS. It reports DNS, TCP, TLS, TTFB, full load time, transferred bytes and file count for a first (cold cache) and a repeat (warm cache) visit, plus an A+ to F grade and a 0–100 score. Operated by DevTeam Co., Ltd. (Incheon, Republic of Korea). No sign-up, free. Key facts: - Regions and AWS codes: Seoul ap-northeast-2, Tokyo ap-northeast-1, Singapore ap-southeast-1, Sydney ap-southeast-2, Virginia us-east-1, Oregon us-west-2, Frankfurt eu-central-1, London eu-west-2. - A test takes about 20–60 seconds; all regions run in parallel. - TTFB is measured from sending the HTML request to the first response byte (responseStart − requestStart), separately from DNS, TCP and TLS. Load time runs from navigation start to the end of the load event. - "Origin" is the region with the lowest TTFB; "average" and "worst" are taken over the regions that succeeded. - Grade A+ requires origin TTFB ≤ 200 ms and load ≤ 1.5 s, average TTFB ≤ 800 ms and load ≤ 2.5 s, worst TTFB ≤ 1.5 s and load ≤ 3 s, and a faster repeat visit in ≥ 80% of regions. Lower grades relax these limits; F misses the D limits. - Score weights: average load 35%, average TTFB 25%, worst-region load 20%, origin TTFB 10%, repeat-visit improvement 10%; clamped to the letter grade's band. - Leaderboard: opt-in only; a site qualifies with ≥ 10 files and ≥ 100 KB transferred on the first visit (median across regions) and ≥ 6 of 8 regions succeeding. Ranked by score, then average load time; top 200 shown. The board resets on the 1st of every month (UTC) and past months are archived at https://www.globalwebsitespeedtest.com/leaderboard/YYYY-MM. - The homepage shows daily statistics (UTC): distinct sites tested, tests run, average load time, fastest and slowest test averages, average load time per region. ## Tool - [Global website speed test](https://www.globalwebsitespeedtest.com/): run a free test from 8 regions at once. - [Speed leaderboard](https://www.globalwebsitespeedtest.com/leaderboard): this month's fastest opted-in real websites, ranked by multi-region score (monthly reset, top 200). - [Methodology](https://www.globalwebsitespeedtest.com/methodology): exact metric definitions, grade thresholds, score weights and leaderboard rules. ## Guides - [How to reduce TTFB (time to first byte): causes, targets and fixes that work](https://www.globalwebsitespeedtest.com/blog/reduce-ttfb): Reduce TTFB by caching HTML at the edge, fixing slow database queries, removing redirects and moving content closer to users.
